Bangladesh pacers' impressive show with old ball

Bangladesh fast bowlers, led by Ebadot Hossain showed an impressive performance, specially with old ball on the second day of the three-day practice game against Cricket West Indies (CWI) President's XI on Saturday.

Their performance gave the side a glimmer of hope as Bangladesh gear up for the two-match Test series against West Indies with this practice match.

Ebadot claimed 3-51, all with old ball, while Rejaur Rahman Raja ended with 1-47 as CWI President's XI reached 210-4 at stumps. The local side is
now trailing by 109 runs after Bangladesh declared their first innings on 310-7, thanks to Tamim Iqbal's 162 not out.

West Indies openers J Soloznao scored 83 not out and Tagnarayan Chanderpaul, the son of former West Indies star Shivnarayan Chanderpaul made
59 as they combined for a 109-run for the opening stand to keep Bangladesh bowlers at bay.

After failing to do anything with new ball, Raja then came up with fire with the old ball to make the crucial breakthrough, dismissing Chanderpaul.
Ebadot then got into act, slicing the middle order in no time, leaving the local side at 167-4.

However Solozano and Y Cariah resisted with stubborn batting to help the side end the day with good note. Cariah however was on 21 when the bails were
drawn for day two.

With one day of the game being left, the match seemed to head towards a draw.

Earlier, resuming the day at 274-6, Bangladesh added just 36 runs before declaring their innings as they want their bowlers to give some game time.

Tamim Iqbal who started the day with 140, made 22 runs of those 36 to remain not out on 162. He smote 21 fours and one six in his 287-ball-knock.
